Heritage
The town holds significant Renaissance art, particularly the work of 15th-century artist Benozzo Gozzoli, a student of Fra Angelico. His two notable fresco cycles are displayed in the Benozzo Gozzoli Museum. The Municipal Art Collection occupies the historic upper part of town, while the Museum of Santa Verdiana houses works by Cimabue and Taddeo Gaddi.
Architecture
The Sanctuary of Santa Verdiana features a baroque façade and preserves the cell where the patron saint lived in solitude for over thirty years during the 13th century. Outside the town walls, the Church of San Francesco stands as a rare example of gothic architecture in Valdelsa.
Teatro del Popolo
Completely restored in 2009, this 19th-century theatre is one of Tuscany's important performance venues and the oldest in Valdelsa. The restoration has preserved its historical character while bringing it back into active use.
