Beaches
Sitting at the western end of a sweeping bay, Armação de Pêra’s privileged location allows for surveying stunning dune back beaches as far as the eye can see. It is also one of the last places where fisherman still drag their boat and daily catch onto the beach, this a fabulous traditional sight to behold. The main beach, Praia Grande, is a long expanse sand, next to the main town. To the west are the coves at Senhora da Rocha, a headland that juts out and is home to a medieval fortress and chapel from where the views along the coast are spectacular. Either side of the headland are lovely beaches: Praia Nova to the west and smaller praia da Senhora da Rocha to the east.
