Perched peacefully on a sun-kissed hillside above Corfu’s northeast coastline, Aetos captures the nostalgic charm of Mediterranean travel whilst also offering modern comfort. From the moment you arrive, sweeping panoramic views of the glistening Ionian Sea and the rugged Albanian coast set the tone for a stay that feels both serene and remarkable.

Bathed in natural light, the interior of Aetos combines rustic character with contemporary elegance. Numerous glass doors, framed by traditional pale blue shutters, open out to the shimmering private pool and spacious terraces. Exposed timber beams and soft tones create a warm and peaceful atmosphere in the open plan living space, whilst a gentle sea breeze drifts through double doors on each side.

The beautifully appointed kitchen, complete with an American-style fridge freezer, leads directly to a poolside dining area, an idyllic spot to savour breakfast at sunrise or slow languid lunches overlooking the sea. The in-built barbecue and second exterior dining area to the side of the property, sets the stage for memorable evenings of grilled food and relaxed conversation with family and friends.

Each one of the four en suite bedrooms is a haven of calm, decorated in soothing pastels and furnished with understated elegance. The Principal bedroom is particularly indulgent, featuring a Jacuzzi bath, twin basins and a private balcony offering some of the finest views.

Though Aetos feels wonderfully secluded, civilisation and the temptation to explore is never far away. The charming harbour village of Kassiopi (2.5km) offers a delightful selection of traditional tavernas, waterfront cafés and relaxed bars. Choose to spend the day at one of the local beaches, including Imerolia (2.7km), Pipitos (3.2km), Kanoni (3.2km), Kogevina (3.5km) or Avlaki (4km). These include white pebble coves with crystal-clear waters to quiet sandy bays perfect for swimming and snorkelling. By night, Kassiopi comes alive with gentle buzz, ideal for those wanting to soak up the atmosphere without the crowds.

Whether you spend your days drifting between the pool or the sea below, exploring Corfu’s hidden gems or enjoying sunset dinners on the terrace, Aetos offers guests the perfect Corfiot escape.

Great Things to Do Near Aetos

Sunset at Peroulades

Take a late afternoon drive towards Sidari and you will come to Peroulades, a small village set way up high on the cliff tops overlooking Loggas Beach. Here you will find the well-known bar perched right on the cliff edge. The bar's terrace extends onto a glass platform where you can gaze straight down to the sea and the cliff face beneath your feet - if you dare! Then finish off the evening with a cooling drink watching the sunset over the Ionian Sea.

Try a typical Corfiot dish

One of the many local dishes created here on Corfu, Bourdetto is a spicy fish stew made from freshly caught scorpion fish. Be warned, you have to eat this dish with your fingers and a lot of bread for the salsa (sauce), as it is a very bony fish, and is far too fiddly to try to eat with a knife and fork, so eat it the local way!

Explore the north-east coast by boat

Hire a boat for the day to explore the beautiful north-east coast, probably the prettiest coastline here on the island. You can stop off in any number of little coves that can only be discovered by sea, go for a swim or try some snorkelling, before heading to one of the bays (Agni, Kalami or San Stefanos) for a spot of lunch.

Visit Pontikinissi (Mouse Island)

What a lovely way to spend a half day, take a trip out to the Kanoni peninsula and enjoy a coffee on the waterfront café there, next to the Vlahernon monastery, which is also an island, but has been connected to the Kanoni peninsula by a small causeway. It's from this small causeway that you take the regular boat crossing over to Pontikinissi about a 5 minute boat trip away. Don’t forget your swimming gear, as you can easily have a lovely swim here.

The Big Red Bus

Drive down to Corfu Town and pick up the Big Red Bus from the port. This relatively new service is an open-topped, 'Hop On / Hop Off' bus that takes you on a guided tour all around Corfu Town and the outlying areas. It's a great way to see and hear about the town's history and highlights.

Play a round of golf

You'll find the island's 18-hole golf course close to Ermones on the Ropa Valley (west of Corfu Town). This excellent course (one of only half a dozen in all of Greece!) was created by the British during their time of occupation.

Visit the Durrells' home

Visit the White House in Kalami, home to the Durrell family back in the 1930's, whilst Lawrence wrote his novel 'Prospero's Cell' and where Gerald wrote 'My Family and Other Animals', both a must read when holidaying in Corfu.

St Spiridon Lake's ornithological nature reserve

A lake and wetland reserve, of great interest to bird watchers in particular, but also to nature lovers in general and to walkers. It is the temporary or permanent habitat of more than 100 bird species, as well as many rare and beautiful plants. You will find this interesting lagoon and the beautiful beach and discreet coves nearby a short distance down from the main road linking Kassiopi with Acharavi.

Snorkelling

Head to Kerasia beach where the water is sublimely clear and protective rocks create a perfect bay ideal for snorkelling.

A fun day out at Aqualand

Corfu Aqualand, near to the village of Agios Ioannis, is one of the largest water parks in Europe and features 51 slides, several pools, a lazy river and a wide variety of other water attractions. There’s something for all ages here and it is a great way to keep the whole family entertained.

Sailing at Avlaki

A perfectly positioned sailing school which offers lessons for beginners, or local knowledge for the more experienced, in one of the most stunning beaches of the island. There are a selection of toppers, lasers and windsurfers to choose from.

Visit Mon Repos

A visit to Mon Repos is well worthwhile. A Royal mansion, with huge gardens, fountains, ancient trees and plants. Also famed for being the birthplace of Prince Philip. Mon Repos is only a 20 minute walk from the centre of the old town of Corfu, at the start of the Kanoni peninsula.
