Tucked into the olive-clad hillside, just above one of Corfu’s most tranquil and appealing coastal villages of Nissaki (2.1km), Angela enjoys a scenic and convenient location from which to enjoy Corfu’s unspoilt north-east coastline.

Offering uninterrupted views from the spacious terraces out across the Ionian sea and towards mainland Greece, Angela is a great choice for anyone seeking a property with wonderful vistas, yet still close to amenities. A 20 minute walk downhill will lead you to the coastal road, two tavernas, an authentic bakery with coffee shop and a mini-market.

Externally the villa boasts expansive terraces, complete with table tennis, private swimming pool and uninterrupted views all day long. Whether you are taking an early morning dip, relaxing on a sunbed, or enjoying a spot of lunch, the views are there for you to soak in and relish. An in-built barbecue and separate exterior dining area set the scene for relaxed evening meals, accompanied by soft hillside breezes and the distant shimmer of the sea below.

Internally, the accommodation is split across three levels. On the lower ground floor, accessed both internally and from the terrace, there is an open plan living space.

The beach at Nissaki (2.1km) can be reached in five minutes by car. Here you will find a peaceful and attractive pebble bay renowned for its crystal-clear waters, swimming opportunities, snorkelling and boat hire. The quaint harbour is home to fishing boats and family run tavernas serving the daily catch and other Corfiot dishes. Meanwhile, the nearby resorts of Kalami (7.2km) and Kassiopi (14km) are all easily reached by car for those wishing to explore further afield.

Great Things to Do Near Angela

Photos ops from the Old Fort

One of the island's principal attractions, Corfu's Old Fort, otherwise known as Paleo Frourio, has served to protect Corfu Town throughout various historical conflicts. Construction began in the 8th century but later modifications included the Venetians adding a moat in the 16th century and the British adding various buildings inside the fort such as the church during the 19th century. Magnificent views over the city are available from the top of the fort.

The bitesize Archeological Museum

This little gem is small but magnificent! You won't get museum indigestion here as it is quite small, but very well laid-out, with a couple of real highlights which are as good as anything we've seen in the whole of Greece on many trips in the past. It is air-conditioned which makes it a lovely place on a very hot day - cool off as a culture vulture!

Sail over to Paxos

Paxos is a tiny unspoilt idyllic island, full of olive trees and oozing with charm. There are just three coastal villages with Gaios being the most well-known. Well worth a day's visit.

Visit Paleokastritsa (easier to get there than to say it!)

Pa-le-o-ka-str-it-sa (pronunciation: just let it roll off the tongue!) is set around three main bays. It is famous for being Corfu's most treasured beauty spot; beware it can become busy in high season. Luxury yachts sail in to admire the backdrop of the beautiful green hills around Paleokastritsa. The best way for the views, is to go via the Troumpetas pass. Look on your map for Skipero (which is on the main Sidari road) - the pass is just above.

Visit the Durrells' home

Visit the White House in Kalami, home to the Durrell family back in the 1930's, whilst Lawrence wrote his novel 'Prospero's Cell' and where Gerald wrote 'My Family and Other Animals', both a must read when holidaying in Corfu.

Saddle up and explore!

There are two horse riding schools along the north east coast of Corfu. One at Avlaki (Avlaki Horse Riding School) and one at Ano Korakiana (TrailRiders Corfu). Different rides are available for beginners and children. Those with experience will be taken on more demanding rides, through the olive groves and along the beach!

Enjoy a little retail therapy!

The narrow streets radiating off from the Liston house small shops of every commercial nature. Dominated by the 'gold shops', Corfiot craftsmen excel at designing and making Greek jewellery in gold - this coupled with competitive prices may tempt you. Among the bustle, look out for those shops and stalls selling local items like wild honey, fig cakes and handmade lace.

Enjoy the beach where princes and lords regularly visit!

A quiet cove situated between Kouloura and Agios Stephanos, Kerasia is quite stunning. The Rothschilds have a holiday home on the headland, and Prince Charles and Lord Sainsbury are regulars. It is a long sweeping beach, with just one taverna and a scattering of villas. During lunchtime, the occasional day trip boat may arrive - but they soon depart! It is an idyllic 'get away from it all' setting.

Local Greek Night

Why not book up to go to the weekly Greek Night at the local taverna called Roumelis. Held once per week it is a night you will really enjoy. Best to book as it is a very popular night out within the area.

Enjoy a little orchestra music in the square

Splianada Square is the main square of the island and the central meeting spot for locals and visitors, situated in Corfu (Kerkyra) Town. It was constructed to resemble the European Royal Gardens. It is the largest square in the Balkans and one of the largest in Europe. During the summer months, symphonic orchestras perform at the kiosk that is situated in the square. Order a Greek coffee and soak in the atmosphere....

Explore the north-east coast by boat

Hire a boat for the day to explore the beautiful north-east coast, probably the prettiest coastline here on the island. You can stop off in any number of little coves that can only be discovered by sea, go for a swim or try some snorkelling, before heading to one of the bays (Agni, Kalami or San Stefanos) for a spot of lunch.

Visit the place where Prince Philip was born

Mon Repos, the birthplace of Prince Philip can be found a short 20-minute walk away from the town centre of Corfu. The walk to and from the palace of Mon Repos along the Garitsa Bay is delightful. On arriving into Mon Repos you will be amazed at the lush gardens and the grandness of this royal abode where the Greek royal family used to spend their annual vacations in the early part of the last century.

Play a round of golf

You'll find the island's 18-hole golf course close to Ermones on the Ropa Valley (west of Corfu Town). This excellent course (one of only half a dozen in all of Greece!) was created by the British during their time of occupation.

Go hill walking along the many trails

The Spartillas to Ano Perithia via Mount Pantokrator is one of our favourites. Hike through the hills to the highest peak on the island and visit the deserted hillside village of Ano Perithea for a delightful lunch in one of the tavernas there along the way. Remember your camera!

Visit Pontikinissi (Mouse Island)

What a lovely way to spend a half day, take a trip out to the Kanoni peninsula and enjoy a coffee on the waterfront café there, next to the Vlahernon monastery, which is also an island, but has been connected to the Kanoni peninsula by a small causeway. It's from this small causeway that you take the regular boat crossing over to Pontikinissi about a 5 minute boat trip away. Don’t forget your swimming gear, as you can easily have a lovely swim here.

A fun day out at Aqualand

Corfu Aqualand, near to the village of Agios Ioannis, is one of the largest water parks in Europe and features 51 slides, several pools, a lazy river and a wide variety of other water attractions. There’s something for all ages here and it is a great way to keep the whole family entertained.
