Visit the Palace of Knossos

Excavated in the year 1900 by an English archaeologist by the name of Sir Arthur Evans, this is a most impressive palace, and we recommend that you hire a
guide in order to benefit from their wealth of knowledge. This makes a great day out for all of the family.
My tip is take sun hats and cream. It is extremely hot in the height of Summer and very little shade!

Take a hike

It is recommended to take a local guide with you, but no trip to Crete is complete until you walk along the deepest gorge in Europe, the Samaria Gorge.

This breath-taking natural lake is home to some of Crete's interesting birds and other wildlife and the brilliant aquamarine waters are a wonderful backdrop for a spot of lunch. Afterwards, you can rent pedaloes or a small boat for half an hour and row yourself around the lake, and work up an appetite for supper!

Maravel Gardens

A magical and peaceful garden, filled with aromatic and medicinal herbs, flowering trees and flowers. Various trails that you can follow and afterwards enjoy local organic, seasonal produce in the cafe. It has an amazing shop next to the Cafe where you can purchase herbs, aromatherapy oils and creams, soaps, massage products, healing balms and gifts.
