Maxim is an imposing and secluded four-bedroom, two-bathroom property, set within the unspoiled natural landscape of Halikounas, one of Corfu’s most special and pure coastal regions. Positioned just a twenty-minute walk from the sweeping sands of Halikounas Beach and bordering the protected Korission Lagoon, the villa sits at the heart of a wonderful ecosystem known for its shimmering waters, peaceful walking paths, and seasonal flamingos that gather across the lagoon.

Surrounded by expansive, beautifully maintained lawn and well-established garden, Maxim offers privacy and tranquillity with its large swimming pool, which benefits from a separate shallow section, spacious sun-drenched terraces, shaded lounging spots, and a full-size private tennis court for your exclusive use, which can be found at the edge of the villa's grounds, beyond the inviting private pool.

The grounds are designed for relaxation, outdoor living, and uninterrupted enjoyment of the island’s natural beauty.

Inside Maxim is bright and arranged for both comfort and practicality. The open-plan living area features generous windows that frame the gardens and pool, connecting to the dining area and well-equipped kitchen, creating a harmonious indoor/outdoor flow ideal for summer living. Also on this level, the principal bedroom and a twin bedroom sit conveniently close to the first family bathroom.

The first floor, which can be accessed both internally and externally, offers two additional bedrooms with lovely elevated views, sharing a modern second bathroom, an ideal setup for families, friends, or visiting guests seeking both space and privacy.

Maxim’s location offers calm, yet also excellent access to some of the most charming and culturally rich areas of Corfu. A short drive takes you to the traditional village of Agios Matheos (5.8km), known for its local tavernas, bakery, cafés, and authentic Greek atmosphere. Nearby Prasoudi (5.1km) and Kanouli (5km) beaches provide quieter, picturesque shorelines perfect for swimming, dining by the sea, or enjoying sunset views.

For nature lovers, the surrounding region offers scenic walking trails, dune landscapes, and the chance to explore the vast Korission Lagoon. Slightly further afield, the famous fortress town of Corfu Old Town (29.5km) - an UNESCO World Heritage site, is reachable for a day of sightseeing, boutique shopping, and fine dining. Wine lovers can visit local vineyards in the south of the island, plus have the Livadiotis (Micro) Winery just 650m away. Adventure seekers can enjoy kitesurfing at Halikounas, boat trips along the coastline, or hiking in the rugged hills overlooking the lagoon.

Combining natural beauty, spacious grounds, refined comfort, and access to some of Corfu’s most captivating places, Maxim offers a rare opportunity to holiday within one of the island’s most distinctive settings.

Great Things to Do Near Maxim

Try a typical Corfiot dish

One of the many local dishes created here on Corfu, Bourdetto is a spicy fish stew made from freshly caught scorpion fish. Be warned, you have to eat this dish with your fingers and a lot of bread for the salsa (sauce), as it is a very bony fish, and is far too fiddly to try to eat with a knife and fork, so eat it the local way!

Snorkelling

Take a trip down south to Alonaki beach where the water is sublimely clear and protective rocks create a perfect bay ideal for snorkelling.

Play a round of golf

You'll find the island's golf course close to Ermones on the Ropa Valley (west of Corfu Town). This excellent course (one of only half a dozen in all of Greece!) was created by the British during their time of occupation.

Sail over to Paxos

Paxos is a tiny unspoilt idyllic island, full of olive trees and oozing with charm. There are just three coastal villages with Gaios being the most well-known. Well worth a day's visit.

Local summer festivals

In July & August, many of the villages round about hold evening festivals, with local produce and then a communal meal is prepared with everyone joining in.

Explore Corfu Town

See the palaces and Venetian fortresses and explore the old town that is home to the Greek Royal family during their annual vacation. Prince Philip was born here, in Mon Repos palace.

Visit Lefkimmi

Lefkimmi is a traditional village which still has the charm of an old fashioned Greek town. Drive down to the river (Potami) and sit back at one of the cafes or local tavernas and watch all the locals go about their business. Then finish the day at the local beach, Boukari, at the mouth of the river.

The Governors Olive Press

Corfu is famous for olive oil. Take a short drive into the village of Agios Matheos and visit this museum to learn about the significance of the olive in Greek and Mediterranean culture, and see how olive oil is produced from the tree to the bottle.

Birdwatching

Keen ornithologists will be pleased to discover the bird watching area at Lake Korission, where there is the opportunity to see several different species of wading birds, amongst others.

Walk to Monastery of Pantokrator

Follow the sign in Agios Matheos, there is a trek up the mountain, ending in spectacular views over the sea.

A fun day out at Aqualand

Corfu Aqualand, near to the village of Agios Ioannis, is one of the largest water parks in Europe and features 51 slides, several pools, a lazy river and a wide variety of other water attractions. There’s something for all ages here and it is a great way to keep the whole family entertained.

Livadiotis Winery

A family run business located just 650m down the road from Maxim. They uprooted olive trees to plant vineyards in the late 80s. Try their Kakotrygis wine, which is in their words, "a red wine pretending to be a white".
