In the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Moledo, amidst the lawns and terraces of its substantial tree-filled grounds, this attractive local home offers a wonderful retreat within walking distance of the sandy beach, restaurants and cafes of this most coveted tract of the Costa Verde coastline.

Just 1.1km from the curve of golden sands that sweep across Moledo’s shoreline, via a series of typical cobbled lanes that criss-cross the village, the white façade and pretty windows of Casa Nova da Galé overlook an oasis-like garden of mature shrubs, fruit trees and lawned terraces. In its centre, the swimming pool is heated for extra comfort during the cooler months, whilst offering a bird’s eye view from above is a first-floor dining terrace which extends beyond the property’s kitchen to host al fresco meals.

In the time-honoured design of traditional Minho homes, the accommodation occupies the first floor of the building which looks onto the garden from one side and out across the village on the other. Elegantly classical, its high ceilings catch the eye with their decorative mouldings and on either side of a centrally positioned living room, charming double doors lead the way to the bedrooms in traditional style.

It is a welcoming home that delightfully combines the comforts of modern day living with the character and charm of its local heritage, and its privileged location so close to the sea means that it is within a pleasant stroll of all village amenities. Just 200m away is the nearest local shop; only a short distance further a charmingly traditional restaurant is enticingly close to hand whilst down on the waterfront a range of cafes and eateries offer dining with views across the ocean.

  • Terraced gardens mean that very young children may need supervision.
