Located in the residential area of São Rafael with world-renowned beaches just a 10-minute walk away, Rafa is superbly located close to all you need for a memorable Algarvian holiday.

A delightfully manicured villa with some sea views offering excellent quality and a certain refinement for up to 8 guests. The spacious living areas flow easily between outside and in, and all are well designed, cooling and comfortable. Highlights are the large living room, which has access to a covered outdoor dining area and swimming pool, as well as a panoramic sun terrace that leads out from the principal double bedroom offering sea views. Three bedrooms on the ground floor, a well-equipped kitchen and a wrap around garden complete the set up.

Centrally located, the pretty beach of São Rafael is just a short walk away (750m) together with a small selection of restaurants and bars. The local beach bars offer an array of fresh fish daily and are found close to or even on the beaches. You will be spoilt for beach choice: Praia Coelha is a small but beautiful beach (2.5km), Galé has unusual rock formations (4.5km) and the pretty Praia dos Arrifes is a 1km walk. Albufeira Marina and the bustling old town are 10 minutes drive away, where you can enjoy a wide selection of restaurants, some lively bars as well as extensive shopping experiences. The international airport at Faro is a 45 minute drive.

Great Things to Do Near Rafa

Visit the Museu dos Frutos Secos in Loulé

an unusual museum, which focuses on early harvesting methods for figs, carob and almond fruit. Indulge yourself afterwards at one of the enticing petisseries (pastelaria) along the main thoroughfare.

Play Golf!

The Algarve is renowned for the quality of its golf courses, offering challenges for every standard of player.

Monchique is a spa town

set in the hills planted with cork,eucalyptus and fruit trees. There are some lovely walks through the woods with stunning views of the mountains. Pamper yourself with treatments at the Villa Ternal Spa Hotel in Caldas da Monchique.

Faro is the regional capital and has a delightful old town

which is well worth spending an afternoon or early evening having a wander around. Stop for a drink and 'people watch' along the Rua de Santo Antonio, which is lined with shops, bars and restaurants.

When in Rome...

don't forget to sample the many different types of port wine!Chilled white port makes an interesting aperitif and can be a serious rival to sherry.Accompanied by some delicious local olives, it's a great way to preface a supper of freshly grilled sardines!

Go to the beach!

The Algarve is renowned for its wonderful beaches of soft golden sand. Most have parking areas, toilets and restaurant facilities and during the peak months most of them have lifeguards on duty. There are so many to choose from but a particular favourite on this part of the Algarve is Praia da Falésia, where the sands stretch for over 3 kilometres.

Loulé is famous for its lively Saturday market

where it is possible to buy some great bargains in leather and textiles. It is also well known for its crafts and you can watch artisans wood carving, making lace and painting pottery and tiles.
