It is hard to imagine a better location from which to enjoy the string of sandy beaches and atmospheric fishing villages that line this picturesque corner of Galicia’s southern coast. On the hillside that rises above the beach of Raxó, amidst a cluster of smart coastal homes, Bellavista looks out across its pool and garden to the glistening waters of the nearby sea

Just 1.1km away, via a meandering lane that winds its way downhill from the house past wooded fields and typical homes, the nearest of the pretty beaches that fringe the village is enticingly close. Here on the waterfront, cafe and restaurant terraces enjoy views across golden sands to the sheltered waters of the Ría de Pontevedra, where colourful boats bob up and down around the pier and the region’s iconic mussel beds can be seen floating on the surface further out.

It is not just here in Raxó that days by the sea can be enjoyed, however. Head either east or west and there are numerous coastal gems to be discovered: the historic fishing village of Combarro will delight with its artisan shops and traditional stone architecture; lively Sanxenxo offers an expansive beach alongside a bustling town centre; in the local port of Portonovo the fresh day’s catch is served in waterfront eateries, whilst a short distance further on the country beaches of Montalvo and A Lanzada hug the bay in a wonderful sweep of golden sands. All are within a 20 minute drive of the house.

When not out exploring this scenic coastline, guests at Bellavista will find themselves in a smart home with attractive grounds that have been thoughtfully prepared for days at home by the pool. Designed to take advantage of its sea-facing position, the poolside terrace and lawned garden look west onto the sparkling waters of the nearby sea, as does the covered terrace that extends invitingly beyond the living room. Relaxation and rest were clearly in the mind of the designer when furnishing the interior, where muted hues, ambient lighting and elegant furnishings combine to create an ambience of comfort and calm that is sure to delight.

  • Whilst there are 5 bedrooms the property is suitable for a maximum of 8 guests.
