As we wandered around its beautifully presented interior of light-filled rooms, with the sounds of the sea wafting in through open patio doors and the nearby ocean sparkling invitingly beyond the mature trees and colourful foliage of its pretty garden, we were in no doubt that this delightful coastal home would soon become a firm favourite with guests.

  • The beds in the twin bedroom can be prepared as a double if preferred. Please advise at time of booking.
  • Larger than average gaps in the stair bannister mean that young children will need supervision.

Enjoy a trip to the market in Cangas...

A large and colourful affair where you'll find an amazing choice of fresh vegetables, cheeses and even octopus!

Take a ferry from Cangas to the Cies Islands...

It's now a National Park and you can enjoy a lazy day on the fabulous beaches of fine white sand. Or walk through the sand dunes to sweet-smelling eucalyptus groves, watch for rare species of birds and then enjoy a meal in the islands' restaurant.

Enjoy the sea views at breakfast...

Either from the kitchen table or out on the terrace. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast looking out to sea.

pour a cold drink, sit back and relax on your terrace and listen to the sound of the waves. 

Enjoy a coastal walk...

take a stroll down to Santa Marta beach. Walk along the surf to Playa de Limens where you can stop for a snack or drink in one of the little tapas cafes before heading back to your villa.

Morning coffee with a view...

wake up to enjoy the view from the first floor terrace out to sea and over to the Cies Islands in the distance. 

Mingle with the locals...

take a stroll to the nearby restaurant Broullon for a traditional Galician meal. Mingle with the locals and enjoy the atmosphere as well as the food. 

Wend your way to the preserved fishing village of Combarro...

On the Ria de Pontevedra to see the famous view of its horreos (grain stores) lined up in perfect formation right on the water's edge. A delightful village, now preserved as a National Heritage Centre.

Follow the Albariño wine tour as far as the village of Combarro...

The Rias Baixas produce one of the finest white wines in Spain and you can often buy fresh local produce in little stores which will be unique to the area.

Explore the laid back and peaceful town of Pontevedra, the old quarter is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in Galicia...

The Zona Monumental contains many noteworthy buildings of historical interest and is well worth a visit. And while you're here try some lunch-time tapas in the Plaza de la Leña - delicious!

Spend a day exploring northern Portugal...

Drive over the old iron bridge (built by Gustave Eiffel) to the Portuguese walled town of Valença, a quaint and picturesque place with lovely views over to Tui. There are many linen shops here and you may find some of the best cotton sheets you can buy anywhere!

Grab something tasty to cook on your barbecue at the fish auction in Bueu, one of the best in the region...

Be there for the afternoon arrival of the catch at 5 pm. Then cook the fresh fish on your barbecue as the sun sets over the Ria. The locally-caught Galician fish is possibly the tastiest you will find in the world!

Visit the pretty town of Baiona...

Not far away via the motorway and well worth a visit. Walk along the Marina promenade, tour the grounds of the Monterreal Castle, visit the replica of La Pinta (which brought the news of the discovery of the New World to Baiona). Explore the old town or make your way up to the Virgen of La Roca statue and admire the views. Not to mention the excellent restaurants - find time to stop for lunch!

Head towards Limens beach and follow the path which runs alongside the Ria de Vigo for a pleasant stroll after your lunch...

the path eventually takes you to Cangas if you're feeling like a longer trek!

Visit Tui, a pretty border town on the edge of the Miño River...

Dating from Roman times, and one of the seven ancient capitals of Galicia, the town has much worthwhile architecture scattered through its narrow, granite lanes. If you find the Clares Convent be sure to buy some of the almond cakes made by the nuns who live there.

From Cangas, take the half-hourly ferry service over to Vigo...

for a spot of retail therapy. You can buy almost anything in Vigo from one of the four main shopping areas all within easy reach of each other. Visit the Basket Weavers Street where hand made baskets have been produced and sold for decades.

Explore inland Galicia...

Ponte Caldelas, for example, is an attractive riverside town with some fine examples of Galician manor houses, known locally as 'Pazos'. Stroll along the banks of the Verdugo river or relax awhile on the river beach there. Stay for lunch too - trout from the river is a local speciality.

Walk into Cangas along the coastal path...

an approximately 30 minute walk along the coastal path to the port area of Cangas. Enjoy the views out to see and stop off for a cold drink in the little bars you will pass along the way.
