One of just a handful of sought-after homes that sit on the shoreline of the picturesque sandy beach of Playa de Porto, this smart home with sea views and private tennis court has to be one of the most idyllically located properties we have had the pleasure to offer.

With a lovingly maintained garden of lawns and flowers, a secluded swimming pool reflecting the colours of the sea and a private tennis court that literally adjoins the little lane from which the sandy bay is accessed, El Sosiego incorporates everything required for a fun-filled holiday by the sea in one delightful package.

Guests staying here can wake up in the first-floor front bedrooms and look out through Juliet balconies to the sheltered blue waters of this unquestionably pretty tract of coastline. No doubt a local fishing boat will be visible as it heads back from its early morning catch; in the distance the imposing silhouette of the Cies Islands will tempt with the promise of a day out on the sweeping white sands of their Blue Flag beach; and just below the house itself the gentle sound of waves lapping on the shoreline will be a delightful invitation for the first swim of the day.

Inside, the same care and attention that has been invested in the attractive garden and outdoor spaces is also evident in the smartly presented rooms. Exuding comfort and an immediate sense of welcome, the sofa-filled sitting room and a bright kitchen with conveniently adjoining garden room for dining with views over the pool will no doubt provide the venue for many happy gatherings. Not to be missed, however, is the locally run restaurant which is just a 150m stroll along the lane from the house. A long-standing favourite, this offers typical cuisine and the fresh day’s catch within easy reach whilst just a short distance further, alongside the neighbouring beach of Limens, a local shop is conveniently close-to-hand for essentials.
