The Town
Cala d’Or is a pleasant developed area with well-kept streets, some avenues are pedestrianised and the buildings are low-rise rather than high rise. There is a useful large supermarket in the town for the family shopping.

Porto Cari marina, being the port of Cala d’or, has moorings for many boats and along the palm lined waterside there are a number of fish restaurants to sample local fare. The town will not fail to supply all the evening entertainment you wish for.
Around Cala d’Or are a number of child friendly coves (cales) and a little further south is Cala Mondrago which is a lovely little cove, hosting a picnic area and children’s adventure playground, not forgetting the clear water and sandy beach complete with facilities. Rather closer is the small sandy cove at Cala Sa Nau from around 600 metres away.
A short drive from Cala d’Or is the Mondrago Nature Reserve which is home to two beautiful coves. The reserve offers a selection of routes to walk or cycle through. Among the animals present are the Mediterranean tortoise and the lagoons are perfect resting places for migrating birds. Why not visit the winery in Porreres, around half an hour’s drive away, a long established family run business open to the public.
