About Felanitx

The Town

The town of Felanitx is rich in history from its first settlers in 2000 BC and has a great tradition of handicrafts such as Mallorcan embroidery, enamel wares, pottery and artificial pearls.   The town is well positioned for visiting all the great beaches and towns along the island’s eastern coast.

Nearby

Enjoy an evening stroll around the fishing ports of nearby Portocolom or Portopetro and enjoy an evening meal overlooking the harbours.  Portocolom offers a couple of small sandy bays one with a beach bar.  Boat trips along the eastern coast are available from either Portocolom or Portopetro.  For golf enthusiasts nearby in Vall d’Or you’ll find an attractive hillside 18-hole golf course.

Explore

Just under 20 minutes away lies one of the biggest Mallorcan towns – Manacor.  The town has some interesting shops and an extensive market on Monday mornings.  Guests can explore the pearl factories at Manacor during working hours free of charge.  At the Mondrago Natural Park you can walk, cycle or hire a horse to explore the park.  Visit Sant Salvador just south of Felanitx where you’ll find a monastery/museum, bar, restaurant and fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.

Beaches

Less than 30 minutes away lies Cala Sa Nau beach which is a rural cove with a small beach bar, you can park your car at the end of the lane and walk along to the beach which offers sunshades, sunbeds and changing rooms.  A little further south S’Armarador is a sandy cove just around the headland from Cala Mondrago beach which is in a sheltered cove and ideal for swimming.
