Shopping
Amongst the pretty tree lined lanes of Son Parc you'll find the charming little supermarket, perfect for daily essentials and a couple of souvenir shops to peruse. A little further down is an activity shop where you can hire bikes to enjoy a day exploring the area, or arrange a kayaking trip along the south coast.
For larger shops the town of Es Mercadel is only a short drive inland and here you can find larger supermarkets selling a wide range of goods as well as a selection of stylish boutiques.
Son Parc attractions
Son Parc is a holiday resort set in an area of valleys and pine woods with hill side views into the island's attractive northern countryside. Its large, sandy beach with shallow water is perfect for spending a day relaxing or swimming and is also great for children as it has a whole range of amenities available.
There are paths along the cliff tops, leading to some pretty, sandy coves and Ses Olles on the other side of the beach is very quiet and a great place for snorkelling.
Menorca's only golf course is also in Son Parc, complete with driving ranges, and is open to visitors.
Dining out
There are a range of restaurants and tapas bars in and around Son Parc. From beachside cafes overlooking the water to traditional Menorcan restaurants and occasionally some live music in the evenings.
In the surrounding area
Fornells, apart from being renowned for its restaurants, is also the main hub for all types of water sports in Menorca. A whole range of activities and courses are on offer that can range from snorkelling in the marine reserve, to learning how to sail or jet ski for the more adventurous.
The section of north coast beaches close to Son Parc are unusual in that the sand is red, which when combined with the deep blue of the sea makes them stunningly beautiful. Cala Pregonda is a firm favourite amongst the locals and the beaches at Cavalleria are excellent for snorkelling and swimming.
Cap de Cavalleria is the northern most point on the island and is easily seen from afar because it is home to a majestic lighthouse complete with visitors' centre. The views along the north coast are breath taking and this is one of the best places to see the sun go down.
