The beaches
The Bura Bura beach sits in Kuje bay, where fine gravel, pebbles and rocks meet clear Adriatic waters. From here, you'll look out across the fishing port towards the Kvarner islands – a view that captures the essence of this working coastal community.
The beach is well-equipped for families, with several beach bars serving food and drinks throughout the day. A floating water park appeals to younger visitors, while a sports and diving centre offers opportunities to explore beneath the surface. You'll find bicycles, SUP boards, kayaks and pedal boats available to hire, along with deck chairs when you're ready to settle in for the afternoon.
Cycling
Close to 70 kilometres of marked trails and promenades wind through the area, revealing both natural landscapes and historical traces as you explore on foot or by bicycle.
The routes take you through one of the Mediterranean's most substantial holm oak forests, still remarkably intact, and across dry grasslands where aromatic herbs – immortelle, sage and broom – scent the air. Along the way, you'll come across remnants of the region's past, from old stone walls to archaeological sites, woven quietly into the landscape.
These trails offer a way to connect with Istria's environment at your own pace, whether you're drawn to the native flora, the historical layers, or simply the rhythm of moving through this coastal countryside.
