Medieval events
Throughout the summer, the castle is host to medieval festivities. ‘Medieval Nights in the Castle’ is an evening show with a knights’ tournament, catapult competitions, archery and a fire show. The first weekend in August sees the whole town taken over with events from the Medieval Age - meet street entertainers, knights and archers, horsemen and noblemen, take part in workshops, and watch reenactments and a spectacular closing ceremony.
Theme Park
Take the children to the nearby theme park ‘Sanc.Michael’. With a medieval theme and centred around a wooden castle, children (and adults) can explore the castle, and the many challenges and activities found throughout including archery, escape rooms, carriage and pony rides. Tree houses, a maze, farm animals to see, a medieval wooden carousel…
Lavender fields
Lavender conjures up the image of purple hued fields in Provence but Istria too is famous for the cultivation of this sweet-scented plant, and you can find many lavender fields south of Svetvinčenat. You will also spot the stone huts in the fields – similar to the trullo of Puglia, the ‘kajun’ hut is constructed entirely of stone and was used for shelter by the shepherds.
