About Kassiopi

Water Sports

Kassiopi beach is popular with many families and it is easy to see why! It has something to keep everyone entertained with plenty of water sports on offer. It is home to a diving centre where lessons can be taken plus diving excursions leave on a daily basis. Adults and children can also partake in water skiing and paragliding or boats can be hired to spend a day out at sea.

Agios Spiridon Bay

Just a ten minute drive from Kassiopi, the small bay of Agios Spiridon can be found. This barely developed bay with just a few villas and a handful of tavernas is a charming, tranquil place to spend the day. Not only does it boast a sandy beach but just behind there is a nature reserve and lagoon.  For those who love their wildlife, Antinioti Lagoon is worth exploring as it attracts many species of birds, mammals, wild flowers and insects.  Over 16 different types of orchids can be found in and around the lake, which is also home to the rare and protected Eurasian otters (Lutra Lutra).

Kassiopi Fortress

The 13th century ruins of the Angevin Castle can be found located in the centre of Kassiopi. The castle was destroyed during the Venetian invasion of the island but walls and windows can still be made out today during a visit. Offering great views out to neighbouring Albania, walking around the large area of ruins is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon immersing yourself in the history of the area.

Horse Riding

A great way to discover the north-east of the island in a slightly different way, horse riding can be found a little further along the coastline. Avlaki Horse Riding Centre is located on the peninsula between Kassiopi and San Stephanos. Rides take place every day throughout the early morning and late afternoon. With many scenic views to take in, rides vary from trotting through olive groves to cantering along the beach.
