The beach
Avithos is a beach on the southwest coast of Kefalonia, situated between Svoronata and Lourdas. The beach stretches for around 800 metres along a scenic bay, backed by green hillsides covered with olive groves and Mediterranean vegetation.
The beach itself is a mix of golden sand and fine pebbles, with clear, deep blue waters. The bay faces west, making it a good spot for watching the sunset over the Ionian Sea. The water deepens relatively quickly from the shore, and the beach can experience some waves when winds pick up.
Nearby
Avithos lies roughly 12 kilometres from Argostoli, Kefalonia's main town. It's positioned between Lourdas Beach to the south (about 5 kilometres) and the airport area to the north. The beach at Ai Helis sits just around the headland to the north.
