A Hidden Treasure
Just 10 minutes from Spartia sits the picturesque village of Kourkoumelata, considered by many to be the crown jewel of Kefalonian villages. Following a catastrophic earthquake in 1953, the village was ruined but a wealthy businessman raised in the village financed its reconstruction. Now it is home to beautiful buildings, green gardens, a village square with palm trees, a shrine and of course a local café.
