Places to visit

Tsoukalades is just 7km from Lefkada Town, conveniently close for a visit to explore its colourful narrow streets, marvel at its Venetian architecture and have a drink or a meal in the heart of the town or along the waterfront.

Just north of Lefkada town, Agia Mavra Castle definitely merits a visit. Built in the 14th century to protect the island, and specifically the capital, from enemy attacks, it is a magnificent example of fortress architecture. Furthermore, its location on a narrow strip of land on the north-eastern tip of the island, it affords dramatic views in all directions. The castle has undergone extensive renovation over the years, and during the summer is a venue for a variety of cultural events.

Water taxi to Mylos beach

Just a short drive from Tsoukalades brings you to the village of Agios Nikitas from where a water taxi can be taken to the breathtaking beach of Mylos, backed by natural scenery and lapped by sparkling turquoise waters. The water taxis depart Agios Nikitas every 30 to 60 minutes depending on the time of year.

Sunsets

Tsoukalades is renowned on Lefkada for its spectacular sunsets. Not to be missed, take a seat in one of the bars or tavernas of the area and bask in the beauty with views towards the Ionian Sea.
