Pueblo Blanco
El Gastor is a pretty, white hilltop town. Its square, with coffee and tapas bars, is the perfect place in which to enjoy a morning coffee and pastry whilst watching the world go by. In the evening, the terraces become a popular meeting point for those wishing to enjoy a sip of sherry and a local tapa.
Ride the Via Verde
An old railway track spanning 36 kilometres is now open to walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It is possible to rent bikes and equipment and enjoy a leisurely cycle without having to worry about traffic. There are various cafes and breath-taking scenery along the way.
Ronda and surrounding villages
Voted one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, a visit to Ronda is an absolute must. Here you will find the breath-taking gorge with is impressive bridge and viewpoints, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, shops and bars. Within a short drive you will also come across beautiful picture postcard villages such as Grazalema, Olvera, Zahara de la Sierra and Setenil de las Bodegas.
Historical sites
There are plenty of historical sites to be explored within a short distance of El Gastor. The Dolmens, including the Giant's cave, date back to the Bronze Age. The Pileta Cave, with its cave paintings, date back to Prehistoric times. Both are open to the public.
