Location
Being just a short distance from Vigo airport, and having a train station as well as the excellent motorway system around the Vigo estuary, it is simple and stress free to travel to and from Cesantes.
You will find local grocery shops and a fishmonger in Cesantes, selling local produce. For larger supermarkets, the town of Redondela is only 5 minutes away and here you will find everything you need to stock the fridge
Beaches
Cesantes beach is a gorgeous long stretch of golden sand and calm water, perfect for a relaxing day. Taking a walk along the sand you will find small beach bars and cafes to stop in and have some refreshment. By crossing the Rande bridge over the estuary you can explore the beaches of Cangas or even take a ferry out to the Cies Islands where you will find Rodas beach, once voted the best beach in the world by the Guardian newspaper.

There are a number of restaurants and bars around Cesantes, most offering tapas, seafood and other traditional Galician dishes. Some of the beach bars which open in the summer months will offer snacks at lunchtime and a short drive away in Redondela you can find a variety of restaurants to enjoy. For more nightlife, head to nearby Vigo where you can be sure to find bustling restaurants and bars and occasionally live music.

The towns and villages surrounding Cesantes offer an abundance of amenities, a wide range of restaurants and cafes to choose from and picturesque streets and squares to explore. To the south, Redondela is an atmospheric town with a number of different eateries to choose from and shops to peruse. The town itself is very pleasant to walk around during the day, or night and there is occasionally live music to enjoy in the summer months.
To the north of Cesantes, the nearby village of Arcade, backed by wooded hills, is well known for its seafood restaurants and in particular, oysters. Spend some time in Arcade realaxing on the sands of the beach, enjoy relaxing walks along tree lined paths in the hills, or take a stroll across the cobbled bridge for picturesque views across the waters of the Vigo estuary.
