The Cathedral
The Santiago Cathedral is a must for visitors to this beautiful, historic city. Built during the 1300s, Gothic and Baroque features have been added over the centuries, all adding to the cathedral's impressive size and design. For a small fee, visitors can climb up to the roof and admire the view over the city.
Take time to explore the little streets around the cathedral and you will find lots of hidden squares around the Casco Historico (The Historic Quarter), like the Plaza de Cervantes, with beautiful statues and intricate fountains. There are also lots of cafes and restaurants where you can sit and enjoy some Spanish tapas and watch the world go by.
