The Village

At around 35 minutes from Islamlar the town of Kas offers good shopping, restaurants, boat trips and is an important centre for arts and crafts. Approximately 20 minutes away is Xanthos, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a plethora of ancient sites to explore including tombs, a Roman arch and a Byzantine basilica to name a just a few.
Beaches
Kaputas beach around 20 minutes by car, is a sandy cove at the foot of a stunning gorge, with full facilities. A little further (around 30 minutes) but with easier access, lies beautiful Patara beach, which is part of a national park and home to protected Loggerhead turtles. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be hired at the beach and there are full facilities available to visitors.

Set in the cooler mountain air you can expect a combination of fresh, organic, authentic Turkish food, and not just fish in Islamlar, or venture further afield to Kalkan, less than 20 minutes’ drive, for a wealth of choice of dining experiences.
