Insurance Premiums

Evidence of insurance

A policy document that fully defines the cover, conditions and exclusions will be sent to you with your booking confirmation. When you receive your policy, please take the time to read it carefully to ensure you understand what is and what is not covered, and that all activities that you may wish to participate in are included. If it does not meet your requirements, please return the policy, proof of premium and any other relevant documents to us within 14 days of receipt and we will refund the premium in full, provided you have not travelled or made a claim.

Health declaration

An insurance policy can only provide cover in respect of an event/occurrence which is sudden, unforeseen and beyond your reasonable control. Therefore any facts known to you, which could possibly result in you having to make a claim, must be disclosed otherwise you may not be covered. In addition, anyone named as insured under this policy must answer the following questions (the legal guardian must make the declaration for anyone under the age of 18 years old):

  1. Have you or a Close Relative ever received treatment (including surgery, tests or investigations by your doctor, a consultant or specialist), or been prescribed drugs or medication for any respiratory condition (relating to the lungs or breathing), heart condition, stroke, Crohn's disease, epilepsy, allergy, or cancer?
  2. Have you or a Close Relative received surgery, in-patient treatment or investigations in a hospital or clinic or been prescribed drugs or medication, within the last twelve months, for any other medical condition?
  3. Are you aware of any circumstances that could reasonably be expected to give rise to a claim on this policy?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, you must contact Healthcheck on: 01702 427 253.

Pre-existing medical conditions

Travel & General Services Ltd are sympathetic to the needs of those with a pre-existing medical condition and will endeavour to provide cover wherever possible. Simply call Healthcheck on 01702 427 253, and speak to a knowledgeable advisor who will be able to conduct a medical screening service over the phone.

Cover is excluded for any defined pre-existing medical condition. If in doubt please call our Healthcheck in confidence on: 01702 427 253

The Healthcheck helpline may be contacted between 09.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday and 10.00 to 16.00 on Saturdays. The medical screening Healthcheck is optional for those persons wishing to establish if additional cover may be offered to include Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. You will be asked for your personal and travel details. If known, please have your individual policy number to hand.

Conditions, Exclusions and Warranties

Claims for baggage and personal effects

The insurance does not provide cover on a 'new for old' basis, which means that deductions for age, wear and tear will be made where applicable.

Sums insured or limits

All sections of the insurance have a limit on the amount that the insurer will pay. Some sections have internal limits such as the amount the insurer will pay for any one item or the total amount for all valuables.

The above schedule of standard cover shows any excess that is payable.

Reasonable care

You are required to take reasonable care of yourself and your property.

The insurance may not cover you when you take part in certain activities. You must check that the insurance covers your requirements.

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

In addition, all UK residents should carry the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). This enables you to get free or reduced medical treatment if you fall ill or have an accident on holiday. For more information and to apply online visit www.ehic.org

Failure to comply with the terms & conditions of the policy may result in cover being restricted.

If you have any doubts concerning the cover provided please contact Travel & General Services Ltd, C/o CSA by telephone 0203 794 2954.
