Houses with just one bedroom that offer a private pool facility are hard to find. So too are properties which enjoy unrivalled sea views from all aspects. Therefore, we were thrilled to find Yasemi, in the south-east corner of the island, just 2.2km from Sivota Bay, a charming fishing village located between Nydri and Vasiliki.

Steps lead up from the pool terrace, backed by olive groves, to the first-floor accommodation which comprises of a completely open plan studio. Glass doors open from both living and sleeping areas to a covered terrace with views over the Ionian Sea, the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee whilst watching the fishing boats and yachts leave Sivota harbour as they head out for the day. The traditional kitchen and cosy living area make Yasemi the ideal base for couples wanting to explore the island, whilst having the choice to return to the villa for self-catering meals including Greek delicacies on the barbecue.

The villa is just a ten minute drive along the coastal road to Sivota, known to be one of the most beautiful bays in Lefkada, with crystal clear waters surrounded by lush green hills and pine forest. Its sheltered and protected waters make it a popular place with the yachting crowd. The pedestrian seafront is lined with pretty flowers, colourful houses and picturesque tavernas serving traditional Greek cuisine, including fresh seafood, moussaka and souvlaki. You will also find boat hire here.

The closest beach at Afteli has a shingle shoreline and clear waters making it a prime destination for snorkellers. Further around the coast, the sandy beach at Vasiliki has shallow waters and all the amenities making it a hot spot for families and windsurfers alike. Guests can drive or take a boat trip from Vasiliki to the famous west coast beaches such as Porto Katsiki and Egremni.

  • Being located close (100m) to Cactus, Yasemi could be a good choice for an extended family or a group of friends who can be near to each other whilst retaining their own individual space and privacy.
  • Please note that the road from Sivtoa area to the villa, is located along a coastal mountain side road.
  • Property Licence No. 1106004

Great Things to Do Near Yasemi

Enjoy a cocktail

....or two in Sivota Bay, watching the yachts and fishing boats return to the harbour after a day out at sea.

Sample the Greek cuisine

The closest tavernas can be found along the pedestrian street along the harbour front in Sivota. Here you will find family run restaurants serving moussaka, grilled meats and fish, courgette fritters, souvlaki and much more.

Sip coffee in the marina

Head down to Sivota for coffee and treat yourself to a sweet pastry from one of the local bakeries.

Snorkel at Afteli

A small pebble beach with emerald waters. Here you will also find a small beach bar and a few parasols and sunbeds to rent. Don't forget your beach shoes!

A day on the beach

Mikros Gialos, often awarded a Blue Flag, is a lovely beach on the east coast of Lefkada, popular with sunbathers and swimmers. Just behind the beach there are various bars and tavernas, usually open May - September.

Rent a rib

In Sivota, you can rent a small boat or rib without a licence, the perfect way to explore the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea and reach beaches not accessible by car.

Head west

The famous beaches of Porto Katsiki and Egremni are on the west coast of Lefkada. You can either access them via car or head to Vasiliki or Nydri and pick up a boat excursion instead.

Visit the island of Meganisi

Take the ferry from Nydri over to Meganisi for the day (with the car or on foot). The island is much smaller than Lefkada and has a population of about 2,000. Once on the island make the most of the impressive scenery, beaches, harbours and local tavernas.

Take a walk around the Dimosari waterfalls

Nestled in the hills and forests above Nydri, the Dimosari waterfalls are a haven of beauty and tranquility. Put on your most comfortable shoes and spend the morning walking around and exploring this impressive landscape. The waterfalls form small pools among the rocks on the hillside, so take your swimwear with you as you may be tempted to take a dip in warm weather!

Spend the evening in Lefkada Town

The island's capital, here you will find a charming labyrinth of streets with shops, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours in abundance.
