We were delighted to find this pretty village house off a tiny cobbled lane less than 1km from the favoured coastal village of Moledo do Minho with its rural beaches, both north and south. Although very much in a village, the house is well situated, facing the hills behind in one direction and enjoying sweeping panoramic views across the River Minho estuary in the other.

Inside, Casa Picolino has been furnished with a rustic flair by its owner who is the nearest neighbour. The house is on two levels with the very comfortable lofty living room opening onto the pool terrace with pretty flower covered pergola, and picture windows framing the lovely hill and views across the river to Spain. Much use has been made of local materials such as granite, wood and colourful fabrics, with antique touches to complement the overall homely effect and the ground floor kitchen is well equipped.

Outside, the garden area is on two levels with terraces, lawns and flowerbeds above and around the well finished pool terrace with barbecue. In the village itself there are some small shops and cafés, whilst less than 5 minutes away by car (or 20 minutes on foot) you will find a wide selection of amenities in the resort itself.

Once on the coast road, the pretty town of Caminha on the River Minho is very close at hand, and the port of Viana do Castelo is less than 20 minutes away.
