Long-standing friends of Vintage Travel, the owners of Sky 1 will be pleased to welcome you to this tastefully decorated and very well appointed single storey villa. Neighbours to the equally beautiful larger property Casa Cahombo and Villa Sky.

Sky 1 has a bright and open plan white interior for easy modern living. The villa is very well equipped and comprehensively furnished with a style that has been enhanced by professional interior designers giving a distinctive feel in an authentic Portuguese style building.

There are three bedrooms, all of which are air conditioned with their own en suite facilities. A central living/dining area is spacious and leads effortlessly outside and through to the games room with pool and table football. A lawned area looks over rural vistas, whilst the impressive private swimming pool is large and complemented by a separate, solar heated children’s pool. A built-in barbecue sits to one side of the covered dining terrace and fabulous roof terrace is accessible via separate stairs.

Nearby Boliqueime (4km) has two minimarkets, two supermarkets and several restaurants (one of which specialises in piri-piri dishes). Fully comprehensive facilities and a blue flag beach of soft golden sand are just 12km away at Olhos de Agua with the six renowned golf courses of Vilamoura only about 14km drive from Sky 1. 

  • *The main pool can be heated (minimum three days notice to be fully effective) at a cost €468 per week, paid directly to the house owner.
  • Housekeeping service two days per week (not Sunday).
  • The owners of Sky 1 respectfully request that guests do not smoke inside the house.
  • Flexible changeover days are possible at this house - please enquire.
  • Please note that in addition to the property rental there is a local tourist tax to pay. We collect this tax prior to your departure and remit it on your behalf. The rate is £1.82 (€2) per night for all guests aged 13 or over applicable for maximum 7 nights.

Great Things to Do Near Sky 1

It is worth taking a trip to the border with Spain...

at Vila Real de Santo Antonio, on the banks of the river Guadiana, which forms the border with Spain. Explore the twin castles of Castro Marim which were strategically placed to protect the settlement for many centuries.
 

Birdwatching

The Algarve is a stop off point for migrating birds and as such is a haven for birdwatchers. One of the most important sites is the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa, stretching east of Faro, these wetlands and lagoons are considered to be amongst the most important in Europe in terms of birdlife. Amongst the species that have been spotted are white stork, flamingo, hoopoe, stone curlew, Caspian Tern, Iberian Chiffchaff..
 

Visit the World of Sand

This international sand sculpture festival is usually held between May and October. Reportedly the biggest sand city in the world, this fascinating and spectacle will amaze all members of the family!  There are sand sculpture activities for children and it is illuminated by night.  Located on EN125 between Porches and Lagoa, opposite the Noel Internation School.

Go to Lisbon!

Yes, it is possible to do – the fast train from Faro will take you to the centre of the city within 3 hours, giving you time to use one of the City sightseeing bus tours, which have guided commentaries. You can jump on and off wherever you like, thus enabling you to explore the sights and attractions of this most captivating capital city.
 

Visit the most south westerly tip of Europe at the Cabo de Sao Vicente

 which has reputedly the most powerful lighthouse in Europe. To watch the sun setting here is a truly memorable experience.
 

Take a boat trip!

Take a trip from Albufeira or Vilamoura marinas for journeys along the stunning coastline, out to sea or acorss the wetlands and lagoons of the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Needing some retail therapy?


Visit the Algarve Shopping Centre, located on the EN125 at Guia. As well as over 130 shops, there are bars and restaurants for those who need a little respite from carrying those heavy shopping bags and to rest those weary feet. There is also a multi-screen cinema here. Open daily from 10am. 

Learn about the traditions of the area

visit the 'Museu do Traje' museum in Sao Bras de Alportel which houses a collection of traditional Algarve clothing throughout history, showcases local traditions and also provides an exhibition on the local cork producing industry.  

Explore the town of Lagos

famous for its sea faring traditions and the former capital of the Algarve. Take a rest in the Praça Infante Dom Henrique and enjoy a well earned cool drink.

 

Capture the atmosphere of Faro

The regional capital is well worth spending an afternoon or early evening having a wander around. Stop for a drink and 'people watch' along the Rua de Santo Antonio, which is lined with shops, bars and restaurants.  

Explore the attractive local town of Loulé

where it is possible to buy some great bargains in leather and textiles. It is also well known for its crafts and you can watch artisans wood carving, making lace and painting pottery and tiles.

 

Go to the beach!

Spoilt for choice, a tremendous selection of stunning beaches are a short distance away from the expansive sands at Vilamoura to glamourous Quinta do Lago, or the intimate cove beaches west of Albufeira. 

Anyone for tennis?

Brush up your tennis skills at one of the many tennis centres and academies in Vilamoura and Vale do Lobo. If you are lucky you might be there when some big names are in town to participate in a tournament.
 

Horse riding

are available at Cegonha Vilamoura country club with rides and trekking for all abilities. Also nearby is Pine Trees at Vale do Lobo, situated on the road between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. with rides and trekking for all abilities.

The delightful town of Tavira is well worth exploring

as it is considered by some to be the most charming town in the region. It is sited on two sides of the River Gilão and spanned by an elegant Roman bridge. As you wander around the narrow streets, take note of the portas de reixa, which are Moorish style lattice panelled doors.
