Imagine looking out across a refreshingly blue expanse of gently rippling waters to the stunning hilltop town of Arcos de la Frontera where the dazzling white facades of one of Andalucía’s most beautiful historic centres sit eye-catchingly atop a ridge above the shoreline on the other side. This is the absorbing view that awaits you from the first-floor terrace of Casa con Vistas, which enjoys a sought-after position in the lakeside neighbourhood of El Santiscal, within easy distance of both the water sports of the lake and the culture and heritage of the ancient town.

Surfing, paddleboarding and windsurfing are just some of the activities that can be arranged on the lake and from the house itself a scenic walk along the waterfront will take you past three local restaurants to the sandy lakeside beach. Alternatively, just 4km in the other direction is the picturesque centre of the famous ‘pueblo blanco’ where a delightful labyrinth of traditional cobbled streets weave their way past flower-bedecked homes, whitewashed facades and some stunning architecture to the stone walls of the castle which offers far-reaching vistas from its spectacular vantage point at the top of the town.

With its bright interior of light-filled rooms and stylish décor, and an enticing poolside area welcoming guests to lounge and dine al fresco after dips in the pool, the house itself forms the most comfortable and attractive of bases from which to explore these picturesque surroundings. From its open-plan living area an almost entirely glazed wall provides an uninterrupted view of the exterior and in the cleverly integrated kitchen cooks can prepare food on the hob whilst looking out across the pool towards Arcos de la Frontera beyond.

Three of the bedrooms are to be found upstairs on the first floor whilst for those seeking an element of independence a charming annexe houses the fourth bedroom alongside the pool. Reflecting the traditional design of houses in the Doñana National Park, its thatched roof and rustic décor add further to the charm of this delightful and much-loved family home.

  • We kindly advise that smoking is not permitted inside the house.

Play golf!

There are some great courses in the area, all available to non-members.  The closest is a short drive away at Arcos Gardens - www.arcosgardensgolf.es. Montecastillo at Jerez, Montenmedio Country Club near Vejer and Fairplay Golf and Spa in Benalup are all within easy reach.
