This charming 19th Century town house is tucked away in a narrow lane below Begur’s imposing medieval hilltop castle. Its excellent location, just a stone’s throw from the town’s main square and church, permits less reliance on a car for transport as it is perfectly positioned for walking out and exploring the winding streets and shady alleyways with their elegant colonial style residences, first class restaurants and tapas bars.

Imaginative in design, the interior displays an exquisite mixture of contemporary architecture and traditional features, with quality furnishings and tasteful pastel colour schemes creating an unmistakable feel of comfort and warmth.

Set over three floors, each level communicates via a handsome open tread staircase, constructed of polished steel and glass. From the first and second floors, doors open out onto Casa Leanor's enchanting walled garden, which comes alive with the colours of bougainvillea and orange begonia.

A sun terrace borders the swimming pool and decorative stone steps lead up to the end of the garden where a large fig tree offers welcome shade.

With so much to do and see so close to hand, you may not wish to leave this welcoming home but if you are able to tear yourself away, a visit to Begur's three delightful sandy coves, Aigua Blava, Sa Tuna and Sa Riera, is well recommended. Perfect for swimming and snorkelling, each one is a beauty spot in its own right and all are within a ten-minute drive.

  • Due to the internal layout of the house and terraced garden, young children would need supervision.

Great Things to Do Near Casa Leanor

Walk out of the front door, along the narrow street...

and within 2 minutes you are at the very heart of Begur! The narrow pedestrianised streets are lined with interesting boutiques, bars and restaurants with hidden courtyards, all waiting to be explored!

Sit on the upper terrace,

under the shade of the leafy fig tree and look out over the rooftops of this fascinating old town, with a glass of something nice and chilled to hand!

When walking around Begur, keep an eye out for the Casas Indianas,

the design of which has been influenced by the young people of Begur who emigrated to the Americas, mainly in search of riches. Those who returned left their stamp on the architecture of the town - one such example overlooks the small car park area near the church.

Walk from the house and

climb up to the castle from where there are far reaching views. The most noteworthy are those towards the Medes Islands, long ago a refuge for pirates and smugglers, although today they are famous as a marine nature reserve.

For keen walkers,

take the GR92, the Cami Vell de Sa Tuna which will take you the 2.3 kms to this small cove. Take your swimming things and enjoy a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean, a good lunch and head back to Begur.

Walk 7 kms of the GR92

to the inland medieval village of Pals, which has delightful views up and down the coast. There are some great restaurants in which to enjoy some sustenance before the walk back!

Visit the golden sandy beach of Aigua Blava

which has the softest sand in the vicinity. The view from the beach across the sparkling blue Mediterranean of the pine covered slopes is a pure delight.

For snorkelling enthusiasts

there are excellent opportunities awaiting in the little coves of Malaret and Port de ses Orats at Aigua Blava. Legend says that Port de ses Orats is the very place from which the coastline was christened with the name The Costa Brava.

The experience of the so called 'Dalinian Triangle' for lovers of art and culture is a 'must'.

The three parts to visit are his home in Cadaqués (pre-booking necessary), the Teatre-Museu in Figueres and the Gala-Dalí Castle in Pubol. This will be a long day excursion but very informative and entertaining!

The protected Marine Reserve of Ses Negres

is very close by, between the bays of Aigua Freda and Sa Riera. From the coastal path there are some ideal spots for fantastic snorkelling. So, take a picnic and make a day of it!

Catch the train and visit Barcelona for the day.

There is so much to see and do in this vibrant city. Take the open topped tour bus and hop on and off at the different sights. After a lunch of delicious tapas save some energy for shopping in the elegant shops.

Stroll round the Roman City of Empúries

accompanied by your own English speaking guide. Tours organised in July/August only. Pre booking essential.

Visit the fabulous city of Girona for the day,

taking in the beautifully restored Jewish Quarter, the Arab Baths, the cathedral, its museums and the many shops.

Learn to windsurf to rent a catamaran at nearby Pals beach.

If you are up for a challenge, have a go at kitesurfing - a new sport where a small kite is attached to a surfboard allowing spectacular pirouettes and high speeds.

Drive a few miles inland

and visit the many ancient stone villages known as the 'Golden Triangle'. Stop for lunch in Peratallada and then visit the fascinating farm museum in the tiny village of Palau Sator.

Visit the pottery town of La Bisbal

and purchase some handmade ceramics to take back home. Friday is a good day to visit as there is a colourful market - or perhaps explore some of the numerous antique shops.

Visit the Sunday morning market in nearby Palafrugell

and soak up the atmosphere with a drink in the main square. Later visit the magnificent wine store of Jordi Grau and enjoy a glass of wine with a 'tapa'.

For the motor sport enthusiasts visit the Circuit de Catalunya,

just off Exit 13 of the AP7. Guided tours are available to include entry to the paddock, the control tower and the podium. Maybe the ladies could indulge in some retail therapy at the same time at the nearby outlet shopping centre La Roca Village.

Visit the wine cellars of Mas Oller

(on the outskirts of Torrent) for a wine tasting. Then pop into the village and visit the Jam Museum on the Plaça Major.

Drive up through the pine trees

to the 15th century hermitage and lighthouse of Sant Sebastià which sits above the delightful, majestic bay of Llafranc and enjoy the breathtaking views out across the Mediterranean.
