Clearly visible ahead, the distinctive rocky slopes of El Tajo de Algarín, the iconic peak that rises imposingly behind El Gastor, signal the proximity of the pretty ‘pueblo blanco’, whose flower-bedecked streets, charming local shops and atmospheric restaurants are only 2km away.

This is an idyllic spot. Nestling snugly into the hillside on one side and looking out across a sweeping rural vista on the other, it offers seclusion and views in equal measure.

Also to be enjoyed is a pleasing sense of spaciousness, both inside and out. Beneath a high-pitched ceiling of rustic wood beams, the living room flows gracefully into a generously proportioned kitchen, which comes complete with a central island and an impressive array of sleek, contemporary units and appliances. Both this and the adjacent principal bedroom look southwards through patio doors onto the immaculately presented outdoor area where the property’s al fresco facilities beckon: a wide covered terrace perfect for outdoor dining, an expansive sun terrace and a shimmering pool, all framed by the stunning rural backdrop.

Just 2 km away, via a scenic country lane, the charming narrow streets and pretty village square of El Gastor offer some local shops, two restaurants and a charming atmosphere in which to mingle amongst the locals.
