Nestled amidst the rural topography and meadows between the historic town of Pollença and its popular rugged and sandy coastline, the location and layout of this hidden gem provides a perfect haven for a large group to reunite, with spacious communal areas for daytime activities and lazy evening gatherings, whilst providing a number of nooks and quiet places waiting to be claimed as someone’s personal space.

This extensive country house has all the comforts of home yet retains an authentic Mallorquin feel. Interiors are a blend of terracotta tiles and high beamed ceilings, complemented by sandstone pillars, soft lighting and colourful fabrics, creating an affable, pleasant ambiance in which to slow down the pace a notch or two and catch up on some quality time with friends and family.

Whilst separate staircases on each side of the property lead to comfortable, spacious sleeping accommodation, the heart of this finca is designated to bright, airy rooms with direct access to the equally delightful exterior with terraces, a water feature jet cascading into the pool, a fully equipped poolside summer kitchen which naturally becomes the hub to congregate during those warm summer evenings, all encompassed by high conifer trees and ornate gardens, complete with a small bridge passing over a charming lily pond.

As and when you decide to leave these relaxing surrounds, the reward of a 10 minute drive (depending on which way you turn out of the gate) will be the sandy stretches of Playa de Muro and Port de Pollença beaches or the enchanting cobbled streets leading to bistros, local craft shops and shady plazas of Pollença old town.

Great Things to Do Near Finca Bou Ros

Planetarium

On the road between Sencelles and Costitx is the Mallorca Planetarium where in the evenings from Tuesday to Saturday, they show a programme about the stars and, weather permitting, a look at the stars and moon through enormous telescopes. Best to book in advance.

Puig de Maria

The start of the walk uphill to Puig de Maria (puig=hillock) is just before the rooster roundabout on the right of the main road towards Port de Pollença. It's best to go first thing in the morning, wearing sensible shoes and don't forget your camera. Take a bottle of water with you although there is a bar at the top.

Lluc is not just a monastery

Take the mountain road from Pollença to the Monastery at Lluc. Visit the museum and the chapel - you may be fortunate enough to hear the Blauets Choir singing. Make your way to the huge cross behind the monastery for the fabulous views out to sea.

Snorkelling at Mal Pas

If you would like to do some snorkelling in clear, deep water, go towards Alcúdia, turn off towards the La Victoria headland until you reach Mal Pas. Beside a fish restaurant serving lobster (choose your own), there is an excellent area off the rocks for snorkelling.

Visit Palma – by train

If you'd like to visit the capital, Palma, and are not keen on driving, then take the train from Sa Pobla. Palma is an excellent shopping centre and has many interesting historical buildings, museums and art galleries to visit.

Explore the old town of Pollença

Stroll around the old town of Pollença. It's definitely worth making the effort to climb the 365 steps up to the Calvary church and browsing in the curious little shops before sitting down to relax with a drink and dinner in one of the many popular restaurants in the pedestrianised squares.

Go out in a boat

Boat trips from the local coves and ports can make a lovely day or half day out from Port de Pollença or Port d'Alcúdia going to Formentor or round the headlands.

Waterparks, Marineland and Aquarium

The nearest water park to Pollença is at Port d'Alcúdia where there is also a mini-golf course! The others are in the south of the island at El Arenal and Magalluf. At Costa den Blanes there is Marineland which has dolphin, sea lion and parrots shows and an excellent Aquarium at Ca'n Pastilla.

Scenic drive to the north east

Heading, in a south easterly direction, drive through the resorts of Playa de Muro and Ca'n Picafort, and then towards Artà where one of the local trades is basket making. Find a country lane to the hermitage of Betlem where the views overlook Colònia de Sant Pere in the Bay of Alcúdia. Back to Artà and, if you are interested in prehistoric building, then visit the Poblat de Ses Païsses before carrying on to Capdepera to see the castle.

The famous caves of Drach

The most spectacular caves on the island are the Caves of Drach in Portocristo, where one of the largest underground lakes is to be found. Visits are on the hour. Further north, at Canyamel, are the Caves of Artà which are not quite so commercial.

The old ruined castle at Alaró

Make your way to the top of Castell d'Alaró - take water to drink as the last part of the journey has to be done on foot. The views from the top are breathtakingly beautiful! On the way down enjoy a meal at the Restaurant Es Verger where they serve tasty roast lamb done in a traditional Mallorcan oven.

Paella on the beach

Spend a day at the beach between Ca'n Picafort and the area east of Alcúdia, at Ses Casetes des Capellans, where you can enjoy a tasty paella or seafood dishes at one of the beach restaurants while enjoying the sea and sun on a long and sandy beach.

Formentor by boat

Boats trips from the local coves and ports can make a lovely day or half day out from Port de Pollença or Port d'Alcúdia going to Formentor and/or around the headlands.

Visit to a local vineyard

There are several vineyards in Mallorca where you can visit and try the wine - Vinyes Mortitx is on the road to Pollença-Lluc road at KM 10,9; Bodegues Macià Batle is at the entrance to Santa Maria on the main road towards Consell; and in Binissalem is the better-known Bodega José L. Ferrer. No visits during the grape harvest in September although the wine festival in Binissalem is worth joining in.

Play a round of golf!

Mallorca has a great variety of golf courses and the closest to Puerto Pollença is the 9-hole course at Pollença. Aucanada has an 18-hole course with beautiful views overlooking the Bay of Alcúdia.

Visit another island - Menorca!

Menorca is just 25 miles away, it is a great island to explore with lots of undeveloped coves. Mahón, the capital, and Cuitadella have beautiful architecture and excellent waterfront restaurants. Daily ferry from Cala Ratjada to Cuitadella.

Birdwatchers’ Paradise

Ornithologists will know about the birdwatching area at the Albufera and Albufereta, where you can see several different species of wading birds, amongst others, especially during the migrating season.

Cala San Vicente

This delightful spot has 4 sandy cove beaches where the waters are crystal clear and ideal for snorkelling. There are a good selection of beachside bars and restaurants where a cooling drink or a delightful meal of fresh fish can be enjoyed while overlooking the beach.

Go to the market!

Pollença market on Sunday morning is a colourful bustling event where you can buy your locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as a few souvenirs and presents. Have a look inside the church which is very impressive.

Beach at Port de Pollença

At Port de Pollença the beach is spacious, has all amenities, parking along the seafront, and if it gets too hot there is a little playground in a small wood for a respite from the sun.
