The most magnificent, sweeping views are yours to enjoy at this cosy, rural retreat. Tucked away on the peaceful, wooded slopes above the Ca'n Bosc Valley Serelleta is in the same local family as one our most popular Mallorcan properties, Baldregat and shares the same unrivalled hillside location as its illustrious neighbour.

Privately ensconced in its own mature grounds, a spectacular panorama spreads out before you from the house terraces and poolside. Showcasing one of Mallorca's most picturesque landscapes at its impressive best, the quite breathtaking view encompasses the Puig de Maria, the Boquer and Cala Sant Vicenç valleys, the extensive Bay of Pollença, rugged Formentor peninsula, the Cabo Pinar and, stretching out as far as the eye can see, the sparkling Mediterranean. From this truly prestigious vantage point even the island of Menorca can frequently be seen on the horizon.

Accessed from Pollença via a country lane that gently winds its way up into the Tramuntana foothills, Serelleta has the charm and feel of a true country hideaway and yet is only 4.5km from all amenities including the many first-class restaurants that populate the celebrated Roman town.

Entering from the long, covered front terrace the house interior conveys an instant homely feeling with the principal living accommodation being open plan in design. Comfortable soft furnishings surround the fireplace, a dining area alongside and the kitchen, designated by an American bar, is located at the far end of the room. Each bedroom is well furnished with independently controlled air conditioning. Two bathrooms (one en suite) complete and perfectly compliment Serelleta's excellent facilities.

Appealing and attractive, the outdoor areas are sure to be the focal point of your holiday. There is plenty of space for al fresco dining with a brick barbecue conveniently located close to the kitchen and gated stone steps leading directly down to the lower level where the spacious private pool and sun terrace are fringed by mature shrubs. Dotted around the grounds are holm oaks, lemon, pine, olive and carob trees.

Pollença golf course is 7.5km, various sandy beaches within a 15 minute drive while ramblers and birdwatchers will not be disappointed with the choice of walking trails and natural wildlife in the surrounding hills - although with a view that is undoubtedly amongst the best we have seen, the temptation never to leave this bucolic haven is guaranteed to be high.

  • Air conditioning usage (12 hours per day) is included in the rental rate.
  • *Families with younger children will be interested to know that a gate on the upper terrace can be closed preventing direct access down to the pool area however indirect access to the pool is still a possibility via the sloping/rocky grounds to the side.

Great Things to Do Near Serelleta

Explore Pollença

Spend time walking around the town of Pollença making the effort to climb the 365 steps to the Calvary church and browsing in the curious little shops, before sitting down to relax with a drink and dinner in one of the many popular restaurants in the pedestrianised squares.

Formentor beach and lighthouse

A scenic drive will take you to Formentor Lighthouse - the road is quite narrow in places. At the top of the hill out of Port de Pollença, it is worth stopping at the viewpoint to see El Colomer rock. Although the beach at Formentor is not very large, it has clear shallow water ideal for children and adults alike, with some good waters for snorkelling. Go early, with a picnic.

Caves of Campanet

The beautiful Caves of Campanet, found by a shepherd about 100 years ago, are not too far away and worth a visit to see the fascinating stalagmite and stalactite formations. These caves are not too commercialised and visits are on the hour. For the most impressive caves, go to Portocristo on the east coast and visit the Caves of Drach which houses one of the largest underground lakes in Europe.

Visit a local vineyard

There are several vineyards in Mallorca where you can visit and try the wine – Vinyes Mortitx is on the road to Pollença-Lluc road at KM 10,9; Bodegues Macià Batle is at the entrance to Santa Maria on the main road towards Consell; and in Binissalem is the better-known Bodega José L. Ferrer. No visits during the grape harvest in September although the wine festival in Binissalem is worth joining in.

Water parks, Marineland and Aquarium

Mallorca's waterparks provide a fun day out for all the family; the nearest to Serelleta is at Port d'Alcúdia where there is also a mini-golf course! The others are in the south of the island at El Arenal and Magalluf. At Costa den Blanes there is Marineland which has dolphin, sea lion and parrots shows and an Aquarium at Ca'n Pastilla.

Beaches and boat trips

The nearest beaches are at Cala Sant Vicenç which has a couple of smaller coves while the beach at Port de Pollença is longer and wider with all amenities. Boat trips from the local coves and ports can make a lovely day or half day out from Port de Pollença or Port d'Alcúdia going to Formentor and/or around the headlands.

Shopping for shoes

A 20-minute drive on the motorway takes you to Inca which has a good shopping centre but also has several leather factory outlets including Camper shoes. Nearby is Puig de Santa Magdalena with a little chapel at the top and a restaurant which serves good typical Mallorcan food while enjoying the most splendid view over the surrounding countryside.

Sunday market in Pollença

Market on Sunday morning is a colourful bustling event where you can buy your locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as souvenirs and presents. It's worth having a look inside the impressive church while you are there. If you miss this, then the market in Port de Pollença is held on Wednesday morning in the church square.

Birdwatchers' Paradise

Although at Serelleta you will be able to see eagles and buzzards, at the marshlands near Alcúdia known as Albufera and Albufereta, you can see a variety of wading birds, especially during the migrating seasons.

Sóller and its port by old-fashioned train

Enjoy the old-fashioned train ride through the mountains and tunnels from Palma (or Bunyola) to Sóller, and don't miss the tram to Port de Sóller through the orange groves and back, then just sit in the church square in Sóller enjoying a drink and a local pastry while watching the world go by.

An historic manor house

A visit to La Granja in Esporles is well worthwhile. La Granja is a large historical mansion with gardens, fountains, ancient trees and plants, and wild and domestic animals. Here you can see a demonstration of ancient handicrafts, tools and machinery and taste the Mallorcan specialities such as jams, cheese, fig cake, sobrassada and moscatel.

Do you fancy a paella at the beach? Then.....

spend a day at the beach between Ca'n Picafort and the area east of Alcúdia, at Ses Casetes des Capellans, where you can enjoy a tasty paella or seafood dishes at one of the beach restaurants while enjoying the sea and sun on a long and sandy beach.

Going further afield.....

in an easterly direction, drive through the resorts of Playa de Muro and Ca'n Picafort, and then towards Artà where one of the local trades is basket making. Find a country lane to the hermitage of Betlem where the views overlook Colònia de Sant Pere in the Bay of Alcúdia. Back to Artà and, if you are interested in prehistoric building, then visit the Poblat de Ses Païsses before carrying on to Capdepera to see the castle.

Pollença Annual Events

Pollença is famous for its simulated Battle of the Moors and the Christians which takes place on the 1st and 2nd of August. The whole town takes part in the celebrations. The Pollença Classical Music Festival is held in July and August, featuring various well-known bands, quartets and soloists - a great variety of programmes to choose from.

Amazing scenic drive

Drive over the Tramuntana mountain roads taking in the spectacular scenery, stopping at the various viewpoints including the two lake/reservoirs, and passing through several world renowned towns like Deià and Valldemossa, home to famous writers, painters and musicians. Look out for the wild mountain goats on the way.

Lluc is not just a monastery!

Follow the mountain road from Pollença to the monastery at Lluc and visit the chapel where you may be fortunate enough to hear the well-known Blauets Choir. There is also a museum, and don't miss a small botanic garden at the back of the monastery which takes about 15 minutes to stroll around, or the rock formation in the shape of a camel.

Palma, an interesting and beautiful capital city

If you'd like to visit the capital, Palma, and are not keen on driving, then take the train from Sa Pobla. Palma is an excellent shopping centre and has many interesting historical buildings, museums and art galleries to visit. There is also an open-top tourist bus which takes you to the prominent places - you can get off and on it at the Bellver Castle and Pueblo Español, for instance.

Walk to the top of Puig de Maria

In the foreground of the fantastic view from Serelleta over the Bay of Pollença, you can see the Puig de Maria. The start of the walk to the top of the Puig is on the main road between the first and second entrances to Pollença town. It's best to go first thing in the morning, wearing sensible shoes. Take water to drink although there is a bar at the top and don't forget the camera.

Snorkelling at Mal Pas

If you are keen on snorkelling, go towards Alcúdia then turn off towards the La Victoria headland until you reach Mal Pas. Beside a fish restaurant serving lobster (choose your own), there is an excellent area off the rocks for snorkelling in deep clear water.

Mallorca has several excellent golf courses including the picturesque 9-hole course at Pollença - just 7 kms from Serelleta. The landscaping at the impressive 18-hole golf course at Aucanada (25kms) reaches right down to the water's edge in the Bay of Alcúdia.
