From its privileged position on the hillside above the restaurants, shops and cafes of Son Bou, this attractive coastal home looks south onto a glistening panorama of azure blue ocean to provide the most enticing of holiday settings on this picturesque stretch of Menorca’s southern coastline.

With sea-facing terraces to be found adjoining each floor of the property, this is a home that provides its guests with their own private viewing galleries from which to survey the ever-changing maritime vistas displayed before it.  Beyond the terracotta tiled rooftops of neighbouring homes a seemingly infinite expanse of ocean twinkles in multi-shades of blue as it reaches out to the horizon like a picture-postcard.  Along its edge, a natural shoreline of dunes and grasses borders the sweeping sands of the island’s longest beach.

These golden sands and the family-friendly hub of cafes, shops and restaurants that lies just a short distance behind Son Bou’s eastern end are pleasingly accessible from the house and whilst active members of the group may opt to take the steps that wind their way between the houses in a direct line towards the sea, others may prefer to walk along the residential lanes. The nearest of the resort’s various restaurants is just 600m away and the beach can be reached in 1km.

Thoughtfully designed to include a choice of outdoor seating areas, gated access from the first floor verandah to the pool below and a dedicated barbecue section for al fresco dining, the terraced grounds will no doubt become a much-enjoyed feature. Inside, the attractive interior is also sure to delight, with its fresh décor of crisp white walls and tasteful furnishings, a generous provision of five bathrooms for each of the five bedrooms and the welcome inclusion of air conditioning in the two first floor bedrooms and open plan living area on the ground floor.

  • There are 46 steps from street level up to the house
  • Young children will require supervision due to the terraced grounds and the gaps between the balustrades.
  • Property Licence No: 3501986

Great Things to Do Near Villa Ebea

Take in the views

They are simply stunningly beautiful.  The sunset is different every day.

Spend some time at the beach

The beach at Son Bou is within easy walking distance and is the longest beach on the island so there is plenty of room.  With a choice of activities on offer, there is something for everyone.  Have lunch at one of the beach bars.

Head into Alaior

on Wednesday evenings and shop for souvenirs at the craft market.  It is a fun way to spend an evening as apart form the market, there is music and entertainment on the streets.

See how the first Menorcans lived

with a visit to Torre d'en Galmés, just a few minutes drive along the road towards Alaior. Walk under the stone archways and explore the buildings that were once home to the Talayotic people.

Macarella and Macarelleta

It is no longer possible to drive to these beaches so one option is to take the bus from Ciutadella.  It's also possible to walk from Cala Galdana along the Cami de Cavalls starting opposite the Hotel Audax.   It is a lovely  40-minute walk through pine woods, so cool even in summer.

Explore the sand dunes and wetlands

at the back of the beach at Son Bou.  The area is home to a huge variety of resident which include heron, bee-eaters, nightingale, booted eagles, vultures, hoopoe, warblers ....

Pack your binoculars if you are a keen bird watcher and see how many species you spot from the verandas at Villa Ebea.

Drive out to Es Grau

..which is a small fishing village on the north coast not far from Mahon. The sheltered sandy beach and the shallow water make it an ideal spot for children. The nearby nature trail winds around the back of the sand dunes, through the woods, and skirts part of the fresh water lake, the Albufera, which is a bird sanctuary.   Kayaking is also fun here with excursions over to the Colom island.

Visit Alaior during the day

It is a lovely, typical Menorcan town with narrow streets and hidden squares to explore.  Learn about the town´s history by doing the tourist route where you can see panoramic views over Menorca from the roof terraces at the Santa Eulalia church and walk in the underground tunnels that were used for shelter during the civil war.

Meet the donkeys

..at the Menorca donkey rescue centre.  Entrance is free but please take a bag of carrots or apples along to feed the donkeys.

Go to the zoo

The `Lloc de Menorca` is just a few minutes drive along the main road towards Mahon and is home to a curious mix of Menorca`s indigenous species and other wild and wonderful creatures. After a walk around the zoo, have a drink in the bar in the company of parrots.

Explore the Son Bou cave houses

Leave Son Bou and head towards Alaior.  Take the first road on the left after passing through the tunnel. Follow the road round, over the bridge, and park at the end. From here you can follow a variety of paths that meander through the countryside and alongside the caves.
There are also great views over the Son Bou beach from here.

Monte Toro

This is the highest point on the island and one place that should not be missed out of any visit to Menorca.  It is possible to see most of the island from the top as well as visit the lovely little church.
Also not to be missed is a drink in the bar and a pastisset, which is a traditional Menorcan biscuit, a bit like shortbread.
