The main beach here is small and quiet, perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing day. The beach is a mix of pebble and shingle and is surrounded by olive groves, providing shade should you want it. Sunbeds are available to hire and the beach is considered safe for children. There is also a little harbour for fishing boats.
This palace is located in the village of Gastouri (Achilleio) around 30 minutes from Boukari. Set high on the hillside the palace was built for the Empress Sissi of Austria. She named the palace after her hero Achilles and the grounds are home to many statues of heroes and heroines. You may recognise it from the James Bond movie ‘For Your Eyes Only’.
The pebble beach at Kalami is just a couple of minutes’ drive away. The water is safe and clear and sunbeds and parasols are available, along with beachside tavernas. Messonghi at just less than 10 minutes away is an old fishing village and a popular holiday destination. The beach is spread out around a sweeping bay and is safe for swimming, it also offers water sports such as jet skiing and speed boats.
