Shopping
Like most Spanish towns, Negreira offers a selection of small supermarkets and locally run grocery shops perfect for picking up some essentials or finding some fresh produce to cook on your barbecue in the garden. Some of the supermarkets sell a number of locally produced wines, perfect for pairing with your chosen meal.
Eating Out
A number of restaurants are to be found in the centre of Negreira and on the outskirts of the town. Choices range from home cooked tapas to high end restaurants and more modern styles can also be found. There are options for ordering take aways to be enjoyed back at the villa and some place also cater for gluten intolerant or vegetarian customers.
For a more extensive range of restaurants, cafes and bars, head to the nearby city of Santiago. On a sunny day, take a stroll through the cobbled streets of the city to one of the squares which are home to small cafes and tapas bars where the locals gather to socialise, often late into the night.
Santiago
There is so much to see and do in the city of Santiago, which is about half an hour from Negreira. Many visitors first stop is the Cathedral, the oldest building in Santiago and where the remains of St James are allegedly buried. Take a stroll through the cobbled streets of the old town or a relaxing walk through the Alameda Park. There are wine trails to follow, museums to discover and the weekly market where traditional stalls run by locals from surrounding farms mix with stylish stalls selling clothing and hand made jewellery.
