The 13th century château set commandingly on the brow of the hill is a designated Historic Monument, with curtain walls which extend over 20 metres in places. Although fought over many times over the centuries, it is well preserved and is open daily to visitors.

The nearby outdoor activity centre has a treetop adventure trail, as well as offering rafting, kayaking and canoeing on the river.
Mountain bike hire is also available; either choose your own itinerary or join a guided tour.
The area is great for walking, with lots of suberb scenery to enjoy. One of France’s national footpaths, the GR36, traverses Najac in fact (one of the old pilgrimage routes towards Santiago de Compostella).
