About Svoronata

The village

Svoronata is a village in the southwest of Kefalonia, positioned on elevated ground with views across the surrounding countryside towards the Ionian Sea. The village sits about 9km from Argostoli and roughly 3km from Kefalonia's airport.

The village itself is a traditional settlement with stone houses, narrow streets, and a quiet, residential character. A few tavernas serve Greek cuisine, and there's a small square where locals gather. The pace here is unhurried, with the village maintaining its authentic feel despite the proximity to the airport and coast.

The beaches

Several beaches lie within a short drive of Svoronata. Avithos Beach is around 3 kilometres to the south, whilst Ammes Beach sits roughly 2 kilometres to the north near the airport. The beach at Ai Helis is also nearby, offering another option for swimming and sunbathing along this stretch of coast.
