El Palacio del Agua
El Palacio del Agua or the ‘Water Palace’ is the star of the Mondariz Spa dedicated to relaxation and leisure through water. Visitors can enjoy water beds, hydromassage benches, vertical jets, geysers and its large waterfall. Outside the pool there are 6 saunas with different aromas & levels of humidity, jacuzzis, a footbath room and an outdoor heated pool.
Riverside walks
The lush, green countryside surrounding the river Tea as it passes Mondariz Balneario is home to a number of walking routes. Along these you can come across Roman Bridges, trickling streams and beaches on the banks of the river to cool off in the shade.
Eating and drinking
Famed for its cuisine, Galicia has so much to offer for those who enjoy trying some delicious, local dishes. Restaurants and cafes can be found in Mondariz Balneario to sample and the surrounding towns of Vigo & Redondela also offer a choice of eateries where visitors can enjoy anything from a lunchtime tapa to a tasty seafood paella to share.
Beaches
Those keen to spend a day by the sea can take a leisurely drive of about 40 minutes to Cesantes; a beach on the edge of the Vigo estuary with golden sand and calm waters. A restaurant is open in the summer months for cool drinks or lunches overlooking the sea. On one section of the beach locals can be seen fishing and small boats moored along the sea edge create a pleasant backdrop.
