Just a 10-minute drive from O Rosal is the sandy beach of Area Grande in A Guarda. Backed by numerous restaurants and cafes and located in a fishing town which is famous for is seafood, particularly lobster.

A ferry runs from the port of A Guarda to Caminha in Portugal, another pleasant seaside town with a beach to enjoy and a lovely historic centre to stroll around.

Vineyards of O Rosal

The O Rosal area enjoys a privileged location within the Rias Baixas with more sun exposure and lower rainfall than other parts of this area. It is this favourable microclimate which has attracted generations of winemakers to the area and a number of the bodegas are now open to the public for visitation and an experience of winemaking and, of course, tasting.
