Portonovo has so much to offer and friendly locals to mingle with. Being a seaside town, there is no shortage of seafood restaurants to sample and in the summer months, traditional beach bars to enjoy, occasionally with live music in the evenings.

There are numerous restaurants and cafes in Portonovo, most of which serve local Galician dishes, seafood and tapas. A number of the restaurants are located around the beach and harbour with pretty views to enjoy whilst you eat.
Shopping
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping for food and drink in and around Portonovo. With at least 4 different well known big supermarket brands in the town. All stock a wide variety of items and some also have fresh fish, meant and cheese counters and a great selection of wine, both local and international. You will also find grocery shops run by the locals selling fresh produce from the local area, fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and seafood, butchers and a bakery can be found in and around Portonovo and shopping in these is great way to support the community and mingle with the locals too.
Activities
With a number of beautiful beaches to choose from, you'd be forgiven for spending most of your time relaxing, listening to the sound of the waves. As well as a relaxing way to spend the day, the beaches of Portonovo offer numerous activities to enjoy including: Scuba diving, Jet skiing, Submarine trips, Speed boat trips and stand up paddle board. You can also hire bikes in the town and enjoy the scenery of the surrounding area whilst getting some fresh air.
