From Andalucia to Galicia – Featuring just two of Vintage Travel’s luxury Spanish villas

Vintage Travel’s Galicia programme 2014 is, like the weather in Spain, really hotting up. We are delighted to announce the arrival of Cabo do Sol to our Galician portfolio. So stunning, elegant and well-positioned is this waterfront property that we’ve awarded it with the ‘WOW’ factor.

Cabo do Sol

Poised gracefully on Galicia’s beautiful and unspoilt coastline, Cabo do Sol enjoys magnificent views overlooking the Ria de Vigo, the exalting Atlantic Ocean and the tranquil Cies Islands in the distance. Being this close to the water’s edge and looking out towards what has to be one of the most impressive seascapes in the whole of Spain, it is difficult not to make this property a ‘WOW’ villa. And that’s before you even begin on the house itself.

Cabo do Sol is situated on one of the most sought-after coastal neighbourhoods in the whole of Galicia. This imposing house has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms – four of which are en-suite – and can sleep up to 11 guests. There are several reception rooms which guests can spread out and relax in. An impressive curved stairway leads to the galleried first floor landing where the numerous grand and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms are located.

Naturally the ‘WOW’ factor continues into the exterior. Guests can choose between bathing in the private L-shaped pool, playing tennis on the private tennis courts, having a game of table tennis in the games room, or meandering around the extensive lawns. Luxury outdoor wining and dining is at your disposal with Cabo do Sol’s quality barbecue house.

Or if you fancy a coastal walk, a gate at the bottom of the garden opens on to a delightful rustic coastal path, which follows the shoreline to La Buraca.  There are many sandy beaches, village stores and seafront restaurants in close proximity to this thoroughly arresting Galician property.

Cabo do Sol is available to hire from the end of May to late September. A week’s rental begins at £1295 during off-peak and rises to £3995 a week during high peak.

If the scorched and culturally-autonomous lands of Andalucia are more up your street, then you’ll be pleased to learn we have another property with the ‘WOW’ factor in southern Spain. Casa Luz is beautifully positioned in the heart of Vejer de la Frontera, one of Andalucia’s legendary white-washed towns.

Vejer de la Frontera is one of the Costa de la Luz’s most picturesque and historical towns. This “pueblo blanco” has a wide selection of quality bars, restaurants and shops. It is conveniently located in close proximity to the seafront, as well as being in reaching distance of some of Andalucia’s most legendary cities, including Cadiz and Seville.

A Moorish influence is weaved throughout the whole of Casa Luz. Warm rugs lay on marble floors,  colourful cushions and an ornate plunge pool in the decorative courtyard provide a sense of Moorish opulence.

A spiral glass staircase leads to the first floor where there are four bedrooms, three of which are en-suite. A spacious roof terrace provides the perfect spot to wine, dine and relax in the warm Andalucian air whilst taking in the incredible views of sprawling terracotta rooftops.

Due to the open tread staircase, Vintage Travel recommends Casa Luz is not suitable for children under eight.

Available from late March to October, a week’s stay at Casa Luz starts from £895 off-peak, rising to £2695 during high season.

With both of these luxury Spanish villas return flights and car hire are extra, but can be arranged by the company on request.
